Watlington Hill and Turville circular hike!
Rating: 4.1 / 5
Distance: 17 miles
A great hike in the Chitern Hills that passes through two counties (Buckinghamshire & Oxfordshire). It was a long one at 17 miles and not only that but a very hilly one too!
The route started at Cowleaze Wood car park - which is near Stokenchurch (close to junction 5 on the M40). I paid £8 for 24 hour parking. You can also get a 8 hour parking ticket but I wanted to be safe rather than sorry.
The route went via Ibstone, Cobstone Windmill, Turville, Southend, Turville Heath, Northend, Christmas Common & Watlington Hill.
The highlights of the trip were seeing Turville and Watlington Hill. Two points of interest I have not seen before and I've been wanting to see them for some time now.
I took a detour to visit the Fox and Hounds pub in Christmas Common - which wasn't originally on my route so that I could get some more water and snacks
