Marlow to Henley - via the Thames Path!

Rating: 4.2 / 5

Distance: 10 miles

Another great hike that me and my father did along the River Thames. The route started at the picturesque Bucks town of Marlow and then we made our way to Henley-On-Thames which is in the county of Oxfordshire via the Thames Path. The whole route was in the Chilterns National Landscape. The route went via Bisham's 12th Century Church, Hurley, Aston, Hambledon Mill & Temple Island.

Please note there was a Thames Path route diversion due to the closure of Temple Footbridge near Marlow. This meant us having to go along roads via the north side of the river initially (through Bisham). However it was still a very enjoyable hike with lots of good views.

Also I wouldn't advise doing this during a wet period. The thames path is prone to flooding around Marlow and along the route! However it was okay when we did it.

Marlow and Henley both have train lines that go to London via Great Western Railway. There is also a regular bus service between Marlow and Henley (every half an hour). Making this a route that can be done via public transport.
