Chesham to Dunstable Downs -

Rating: 4.3 / 5

Distance: 22 miles

A really great hike from the Buckinghamshire market town of Chesham. The route went via: Bellingdon, Hawridge, Heath End, Cow Roast & past the Grand Union Canal, Aldbury, Ashridge Estate & House, Little Gaddesden & Whipsnade.

It was a really great hike this. A hilly one but there were some great views along the route.

The Ashridge Estate and House and the end part of the route along the Icknield Way to Dunstable downs were my favourite parts!

Also just thought I'd say that I got to Chesham via the Metropolitan line of the London Underground and I got a lift home from Dunstable Downs. However, if wanting to go back towards London via public transport then the best option would be to walk to Dunstable. This is because Dunstable is connected to Luton via regular bus services.& Luton is on an East Midlands Railway line to London.
