Amersham to Beaconsfield - South Bucks Way, Chiltern Heritage Trail & other rights of way
Rating: 3.7 / 5
Distance: 13 miles
Amersham and Beaconsfield are both great Buckinghamshire old towns. They are also in the Chilterns National Landscape. This route that I created online linked both towns via parts of the South Bucks Way, & the Chiltern Heritage Trail. As well as using other rights of way.
Points of interest along the route include: Old Amersham, Shardloes Lake, Little Missenden, Bekonscot Model Village & Railway, Beaconsfield Old Town and St Mary & All Saints. A more direct route from Amersham to Beaconsfield would be around 7 miles. However this 13 mile route is more scenic and I'd say more enjoyable!
There are train lines on the London Underground / Chiltern Railways that travel to Amersham. There is also a Chiltern Railways service that connects with Beaconsfield back to London. Making this a hike that can be easily done by public transport.
A few weeks after completing this hike I travelled to Beaconsfield via public transport, and carried on the adventure by heading towards Windsor Castle.
More information on this Beaconsfield to Windosr hike can be se on this page.
