London to Portsmouth - Part 4 - Guildford to Thursley Common

On the fourth day I hiked from Guildford to Godalming alongside the River Wey towpath. I then went via some unmarked public footpaths and bridleways to Elstead. I carried on to Thursley Common & Thursley village.

Thursley common was one of the main highlights of the whole London to Portsmouth adventure. It was a really beautiful place.

I had originally planned to end day 4 of London to Portsmouth in Haslemere. However, due to setting off late I only made it to Thursley Common. There is a stagecoach bus (number 46) that goes back to Godalming and then Guildford) if you're looking to do this as a day hike from Guildford. If you can make it to Haslemere (combining this route and my next day of London to Portsmouth) you would be able to catch a quick train back to Guildford after the hike!
