London to Portsmouth - Part 4

Guildford to Thursley Common

On the fourth day I hiked from Guildford to Godalming alongside the River Wey towpath. I then went via some unmarked public footpaths and bridleways to Elstead, then to Thursley Common & Thursley village.

Thursley common was one of my highlights of the whole hike, it was a really beautiful place.

I had originally planned to hike to Haslemere this day, and Haslemere has a train line for those interested. However, due to setting off late I only made it to Thursley Common. Which was a great end point - but not many options in terms of accommodation or public transport. My dad however gave me a lift from Thursley to a holiday park we were staying in Chichester for the last 4 days of this adventure. The GPX download file goes from Guildford to Haslemere (rather than Thursley common) - as I said this was my original plan. The reason I have done this is to be helpful to anyone looking to do this hike because Haslemere has a train line and would be easier for someone to get back via public transport or find accommodation there.
