Leighton Buzzard to Woburn Sands

Rating: 4.2 / 5

Distance: 15 miles

A great 15 mile hike that I did with my father.

We hiked along the Grand Union Canal for a few miles, before taking a detour to Rushmere Country Park / King's Wood.

Next we followed the Greensand Ridge Walk to Woburn town and carried on to Woburn Deer Park. Which is an amazing place - there are lots and lots of deer roaming around a huge park. Definitely worth a visit!

We then headed back to Woburn and up to Woburn Sands train station - via New Wavendon Heath. A really nice woodland. We caught the hourly train to Bletchley. Bletchley is on the main line and then there are frequent quick trains back to Leighton Buzzard.

The highlights of this trip were seeing all the deer and the beautiful woodlands.

Please note the Greensand Ridge Walk crosses the A5 just before Woburn, and there is no bridge or underpass which could make it potentially dangerous. There wasn't too much traffic when me and my dad hiked this so we were able to get across.
