Hanborough to Charlbury Hike - via Blenheim Palace & River Evenlode ! - Cotswolds
Rating: 4.6 / 5
Distance: 14 miles
A cracking hike me and my father did in the Cotswolds National Landscape.
Starting at Hanborough railway station (which is connected to London and Oxford via Great Western Railway trains). We made our way to Blenheim palace (for free!). Normally you have to pay £40 per person to see the house but there is a footpath that goes across the grounds and everything seen in my photos and YouTube video you can see without paying.
We then went via an old roman road which is still a footpath to Stonefield. At Stonefield we made our way to Finstock, Cornbury Park Estate and ending the route in Charlbury. We then caught the 9 minute train back to Hanborough - the start point.
Would really recommend this route. One of my favourites I've done in the south of England.
We got to see the River Evenlode many times on the adventure.
